What does your job involve? What do you do on a typical day?
My job is to drive sales from lead generation to completion. “What on earth does that mean?”, I hear you say 😂 That’s really just a fancy way of saying that my job is to create a link between the people who need either a boiler repair or a new boiler, and Precise.
It’s important that people get to know what we can offer at Precise, and the great service we provide. To do that, we need to build a link with people – either in person or online, and let them know about us.
Once that link is made, it’s my job to manage the process from quoting right through to celebrating our customers touching their warm radiators again. I’m also responsible for making sure every customer has a positive service experience when they choose Precise.
As you can imagine, I’m always on the lookout for new ways to connect with people whose boilers need to be repaired or renewed – so any ideas on that front are always welcome 😉
Which part of your job do you love most?
Even though I’m new to the team, I was a supplier to Precise for a long time. I love the clear vision Scott and William have for the direction of the business, as well as their genuine passion for everything plumbing and heating.
The positivity and support I’ve received from everyone in the office so far has been second to none, and I can now see, from the inside out, why the company is so successful.
What would you happily delegate?
In the ideal world, I’d delegate pretty much everything paperwork 😉 If I could do that, I’d spend all day, every day meeting customers – which is the part of my job I love and treasure the most.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
My main focus outside work is spending time with my family. I have 3 young kids – 2 boys and a girl – who take up most of my time.
I manage both of my boys’ football teams and enjoy taking them to watch the team we support, Motherwell FC. And Millie, my daughter is a real outdoors girl. She loves nothing more than going to the park and always ends up saying “just one more push, dad” when she’s on the swings. When it’s time to go home, she’s perfected this ‘straight and stiff’ body move that makes it virtually impossible to get her out of the swing – I’m sure any other parents reading this will know EXACTLY what I mean 🫣
When I have time to myself, I enjoy playing Golf. I also play in a football team, Glasgow Dukes, on a Sunday.
