What does your job involve?  What do you do on a typical day?

 My role is mainly day-to-day operations of the business.  On a typical day, you’ll find me co-ordinating the installation teams and managing customer relations.  So, in reality, I spend my days spinning plates to make sure they all stay spinning in the right direction, as they should.  It’s not always easy, but I really enjoy the relationships I have with the team and with our customers.  If things get heavy, I always try to lighten the load with a laugh (only if it’s appropriate of course 😂).

As someone who’s known in the industry for having a keen eye for detail as well as finding solutions to particularly complex heating and plumbing challenges, I also do my fair share of designing and costing anything out of the ordinary.  When things get really busy or complex, I’m not afraid to roll up my sleeves and take to the tools.

And like any other business owner, I work closely with Scott, my fellow Director on our business growth and strategy.

Which part of your job do you enjoy most?

I mostly enjoy being part of an outstanding team of professionals and get great satisfaction from seeing jobs well done.  I also enjoy interacting with our fabulous network of loyal customers.

Which part of your job do you like least?

Going home at night 🤨 – only joking.  To be honest, I don’t really have any downsides to my role because every day is different, and I love the day-to-day challenges of running and growing the business.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I love spending time with my young children as well as cycling and mountain biking.  I can also be found regularly working out in the gym or swimming.  To counteract all the up-sides of that physical activity, I like nothing more than eating out and socialising with friends and family – and maybe a cheeky beer or three 🍺
