Using smart technology to great effect
At Precise, we believe that doing a great job means a clever mix of employing the right people, giving them great training and making sure they have the best tools.
When it comes to technology, we don’t see the point in repeatedly doing tasks or making systems labour-intensive if technology can help simplify things. That’s why we embrace technology and use it smartly wherever we can.
Working smart and making payment easy
When it comes to making sure work gets done smartly, we use a job management system called Simpro. Simpro enables us to manage jobs from quotation stage right through to completion and invoicing. Our engineers carry PDA’s which link to the system in the office so we can give our customers real time reports, documentation and updates about their jobs on site or when we’re out and about. It also ensures that the products we buy from our suppliers are charged at the very best possible price as we not only allocate all materials used against the job to that job, but also check each invoice against a ‘catalogue’ we’ve built to ensure that we are charged the right price (or we’ll be asking questions!). Reporting is also a doddle using Simpro and can be tailored to suit our customers’ requirements – no matter whether they’re domestic or contract.
Keeping our accountants happy
Simpro also makes accounting easy as it links directly with our accounting system, Xero. Working this way allows us to accurately manage our finances and produces a completely transparent audit trail. We use Xero to process our Payroll and VAT as well as our Subcontractor CIS liabilities. It allows helps us to produce a whole host of reports to ensure we are able to make sound financial decisions based on accurate data and are compliant with all accounting and taxation requirements.
Focus on Health and Safety
Needless to say, we operate a really robust Health and Safety system at Precise which also incorporates our Simpro job management procedure to allow our engineers to complete dynamic Risk Assessments and Method Statements for each job they are allocated. They are also required to complete separate Risk Assessments for any/all higher risk activities such as working at height, working in confined spaces, hot works etc. Health and Safety is paramount in everything we do.
Quality Management
Quality counts and that’s why we have a thorough Quality Management System. This gives our customers, as well as our staff, contractors, and suppliers complete peace of mind that they are doing business with a company that really cares about the details, whether it is our Complaints Procedure, Equality and Diversity Policy, Environmental Policy or T&C’s relating to how we engage with our business partners.
These are just some of the ways we embrace technology to best effect at Precise. We believe that working this way means that our customers and our staff get the very best service and experience – every time. How do you embrace technology in your business? We’d love to hear.
