Today’s Working Together is an overview of the work we did recently with a fabulous customer in Pencaitland, Edinburgh, Jeanette Hamill. Jeanette lives in a lovely, detached house and was recommended by a supplier of ours to speak to Precise about converting her oil heating to renewable.
The Client’s Problem
Like most of our renewable heating customers, Jeanette was fed up paying a fortune for her oil-fired central heating. Acutely aware that the cost of fuel is unlikely to drop dramatically in the near future, Jeanette made the decision to switch from oil to renewables to heat her home. That way, she knows where she stands.
The Precise Solution
This was a tricky job as it involved the installation and design of an underfloor heating solution and an air source heat pump. It resulted in us lifting all the floors and working around already installed kitchens and bathrooms. But, as you can see from the photos, with the level of planning and the precision we insist upon, the work gets done in such a way that disruption is kept to a minimum.

That way we can work as closely as humanly possible to clockwork. In Jeanette’s home, we designed and fitted a system including a Grant air source heat pump to run her underfloor heating.

How do you find your new Air Source heating?
“So far, we’re delighted with the air source heating. The house always feels warm (Charlie is OBSESSED with checking the temperature) and heats up really quickly if doors have been left open. It also seems to be saving us money at the moment.”
How was the installation process?
“The installation process was much quicker than I expected, which was great given that all the floors were lifted for the underfloor heating. The whole team were great to deal with.”
Why did you choose Precise Installs?
“We chose Precise for 2 reasons. Firstly they were recommended to us and secondly they could get the work done within our timeframe which was really important to us.”
