Spectrum House, Dalmarnock, Scotland
Overview
Spectrum House is a unique commercial development constructed from 120 repurposed modular buildings originally used during the London Olympics in 2012. These units were reconfigured and assembled to create Spectrum Properties’ new headquarters which features a glass atrium.
Precise Installs Group was responsible for the full mechanical design and installation.
Scope of Works
The project involved delivering a complete mechanical package within a non-traditional structure, including:
- Underfloor heating installation
- New hot water systems
- Bathroom/washroom upgrades and full fit-out
- Installation of a Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) system
- Support in the appointment and coordination of specialist consultants
Approach
Precise Installs Group delivered a fully integrated design-and-build solution, managing all aspects of the mechanical installation from concept through to completion.
Close coordination with the wider project team and consultants ensured that systems were appropriately designed for a building constructed using a non-traditional modular approach.
Outcome
Despite the complexities of the building type, the project was delivered in line with programme and without significant issues.
The result is a fully functional, modern office environment, demonstrating the successful adaptation of modular infrastructure into a permanent building.
